The church people on the plantations in the Black Oak neighborhood who attended the parish church, Biggin, built Black Oak Chapel of Ease. |
1845 |
A chapel was erected in Pinopolis and opened for services. |
1947 |
It was consecrated as "Trinity Church - Black Oak". |
1944 |
Black Qak Hall was built with the materials from the old church structure and the money from its purchase. (During the construction of Lakes Marion and Moultrie, Black Oak Church was previously sold to the south Carolina Public Service Authority and tom down). |
1967 |
The church building was torn down as it was proven to be unsafe. |
1970 |
The present sanctuary was erected. |
1988 |
The growth of the Trinity congregation led to parish status, and plans were made for the construction of a new parish hall. |
1989 |
The "Hearthfire" Capital Campaign was conducted after Hurricane Hugo. |
1993 |
"Hearthfire" was completed, adding a narthex and choir Loft in the church and a new parish hall with offices and a conference room. |
